Mission Statement Elderday, Santa Cruz County's only licensed Adult Day Health Care Center, was founded in 1981 to serve the county's frail adults and elders who need help with daily living tasks. The program helps participants maintain their maximum level of physical, mental, emotional, and social functioning by providing an opportunity for companionship, activities, and professionally supervised Alzheimer's Care. Elderday's major goal is to prevent unnecessary institutionalization.
Volunteer Duties Assisting the frail and elderly population with activities at Elderday, i.e. crafts, conversation, assist w/ small groups, exercise, and games with participants on one-on-one basis to enhance self esteem. Art and music skills are a plus, as are languages, especially Spanish. TB test and background check required.
